Make sure that your new deadbolts and latch plates are the exact same length as the originals, and they're aligned with the jamb's hole. After everything is in place you can push the remaining screws in order to tighten them up. Now you can test the latch and deadbolt with your key. If the key does not turn, you need to call a locksmith.
